TNS Trust Fund

FTNS is also committed to the fight against climate change in the Sangha Tri-national. This has enabled it to support the establishment of a funding mechanism related to the Payment for Environmental Services (PES) in the transboundary forest complex.

As part of its collaboration with CAFÉ and REDLAC, FTNS received financial support for the establishment of a mechanism to finance community conservation initiatives through the voluntary market for payment of environmental services. Studies have been carried out for this purpose (biomass inventories, deforestation trend analyses, basic socio-economic data, etc.) by an Expert PES project developer and local NGOs in order to develop a detailed project (PDD) under the Plan Vivo standard.

This approach should make it possible to achieve its maturity, not only to facilitate the preservation of the forest ecosystem but also to facilitate the eventual collection of funds through the Payment for Environmental Services (PES) from carbon stocks.
