The 21st session of the Board of Directors of the FTNS was held from 14 to 16 May 2018 in the city of Douala, Cameroon. The biannual meeting this time sees the favourable participation of all eleven members of the Board, all gathered to evaluate the achievements of the FTNS in the first half of 2018. Among the newcomers, a former TNS figure, Mr. Thomas Breuer, is resurfacing as a new director for the German foundation, Regenwald Stiftung. Mr. Breuer, who has extensive field experience with WCS in Nouabale Ndoki National Park and currently holds the position of Programme Officer for Central and West Africa at WWF Germany, replaces Dr. Ilka Herbinger, who has reached the end of his term. To enrich this meeting, two resource persons: Dr Ilka Herbinger (WWF Germany) and Mr Chouaibou Tchoutpouen (COMIFAC Representative) were also present, as well as five members of the FTNS Executive Board.

At the end of the meeting, which was chaired by Mr Samuel Makon (PCA of the FTNS), all parties present expressed their satisfaction over a warm dinner. The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be held again in Cameroon in November 2018. It is important to note that this session, which was scheduled to take place in Bangui, Central African Republic, had to be moved to Cameroon for security reasons.
