Who We Are

About FTNS

The Sangha Tri-National Trust Fund (FTNS) is a trust fund under English law established in 2007 to provide long-term funding for the conservation, eco-development and cooperation activities of the Tri-National de la Sangha (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The FTNS is one of the most important foundations in Africa. Consisting of a Board of Directors for decision-making and an Executive Bureau for coordination, the FTNS is based in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from where it coordinates its activities.

The Sangha Tri-National (TNS) in number

The Sangha Tri-National (TNS) is an area and the first initiative of the cooperation on biodiversity conservation in Central Africa. This complex, which is shared by the Republic of Cameroon, the Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic is one of the 200 ecoregions selected by WWF for the conservation of biodiversity worldwide.

What We Do

Support for eco-development in the TNS

It would be impossible to preserve biodiversity without addressing the needs of people living on the periphery of protected areas.

Support for conservation and monitoring

FTNS has contributed to the implementation of several activities and investments for the functioning of the monitoring teams, and the mobilization of local actor.

Support for the dynamics of cross-border cooperation

FTNS has so far provided technical and financial support for the preparation and holding of various TNS management bodies meetings.

Promotion of ecotourism

It would be impossible to preserve biodiversity without addressing the needs of people living on and around protected areas.

Climate Change

FTNS is also committed to the fight against climate change in the Sangha Tri-national. This has enabled it to support the establishment of a funding mechanism related to the Payment for Environmental Services.
